No, there is no consequences, but they need custodian in Canada.

Have a known Guardian, ensure child is emotionally mature. Start practicing at least 1 year before departure – allow the child to make decision, handle money, work and make mistakes. Even then if the child needs more time – allow that. Also note emergencies can occur. Plan to go with child to get them settled. Speak to your child as an adult – as soon as he/she lands in a Canadian University they will be treated as one.
